Jayanagar General Hospital ಜಯನಗರ ಜನರಲ್ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆ The General Hospital, Jayanagar, Bengaluru is a State Government Hospital established in the year 1985, by the Department of Health and Family Welfare Services, Government of Karnataka. The Hospital building was constructed with Hi-Tech standards based on Swiss Model built by the then Bangalore City Corporation (now known as Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike – BBMP). The hospital started initially with 200 beds, which was later increased to 300 beds in the year 1992. General Hospital, Jayanagar is located in 4th ‘T’ Block, Jayanagar, Bengaluru-560041, adjacent to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (R.G.U.H.S). In Kannada, Jayanagar literally means Victory City. The foundation of Jayanagar was laid in 1948. It was one of the first planned neighborhoods in Bangalore and, at the time, the largest in Asia. Jayanagar was traditionally regarded as the southern end of Bangalore. It is about 8 kms from Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna (Bengaluru) Railway Station and Kempegowda bus station and 41 kms from Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru.
